1. Data user / controller and privacy contact

This notice explains how Bake Craft Journal handles personal information in connection with this website. Bake Craft Journal is the public-facing brand identifying the website administration responsible for deciding the purposes and use of the information described here. Privacy inquiries and data requests should be sent to hello@bakecraftjournal.com.

Any change to the responsible website administration or its information practices will be reflected in this notice.

2. Scope and applicable privacy law

Our principal privacy framework is Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486). Relevant principles include collecting information for a lawful, necessary purpose, limiting its use, maintaining appropriate security, avoiding unnecessary retention, and providing access and correction rights. The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data explains those principles.

Other privacy laws, including the EU GDPR, UK GDPR or Brazil’s LGPD, may provide additional protections where their scope and conditions apply. This notice does not state that every such law applies to every visitor or that a foreign visitor automatically brings the website within a particular regime.

3. Information involved in using the website

ActivityInformation involvedPurpose
Reading hosted pagesNetwork and request information, such as IP address, browser details, request time, requested URL and error informationDelivering pages, protecting infrastructure and diagnosing problems
Searching the journalSearch words in the page URL and local browser processingFinding matches in the article index
Contacting us by emailYour email address, any name you provide, message and attachmentsResponding to the inquiry, correction or request
Optional analytics, if enabledAnalytics information and a browser-stored consent preferenceUnderstanding website use after consent

Providing information by email is voluntary, although we may be unable to answer an inquiry or verify a request without enough relevant information. The website has no registration, payment, comment, newsletter or online contact-submission system.

4. Local search and browser storage

Search matching runs in your browser against a static article index. We do not send a query to an external search provider. A submitted search can appear in the requested URL, browser history and, when hosted, request logs. You should avoid entering confidential information as a search query.

In the current configuration, optional analytics is disabled and the website does not write an analytics-consent preference. If optional analytics is enabled later, the preference will be stored locally to remember the choice.

5. Analytics and advertising

The current website does not load Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising SDKs or personalized-advertising scripts. It contains no advertising placements.

If analytics or advertising is introduced later, this notice and the consent controls must be updated to describe the actual providers, information, purposes and choices before those features are used.

For general Google-account controls and information, see turn off personalized ads in Google My Ad Center and how Google uses information from partner sites and apps. These links describe Google’s services; they do not mean that Bake Craft Journal currently serves Google ads.

6. Purposes and applicable grounds

Information is used to operate and secure the website, reply to correspondence, investigate corrections and rights concerns, and handle privacy requests or legal obligations. We do not use an inquiry as an automatic newsletter subscription or as permission for unrelated marketing.

Where a law requires a particular processing ground, it must be appropriate to the actual activity: for example, consent for optional analytics, or a permitted ground for necessary security, correspondence or compliance. We do not treat consent to one purpose as consent to every possible use.

7. Service providers, disclosure and transfers

When hosted, the website’s infrastructure provider may process technical request information. Email providers process messages sent to the published address. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to address a legitimate security or rights issue, with attention to applicable restrictions.

Service providers may operate outside Hong Kong. The actual provider arrangements and any required transfer safeguards must be confirmed for the live service. We do not currently sell personal information or operate targeted advertising.

Hosting has not yet been selected for this local preview. The provider and configured technical-log retention details will be added when the live hosting arrangement is confirmed.

8. Retention and security

Correspondence should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to address its purpose, resolve related matters or meet applicable obligations. Technical-log retention depends on the chosen hosting configuration. We do not invent a fixed deletion period for a service that has not yet been configured.

Reasonable access controls and appropriate safeguards should be maintained for information handled through email and hosting services. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please send only information relevant to your inquiry and avoid unnecessary sensitive attachments.

9. Access, correction and other choices

You may contact hello@bakecraftjournal.com to ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access to it, or seek correction of inaccurate information, subject to applicable law. Where another applicable privacy law provides additional rights, such as deletion, objection or restriction, you may ask us to assess the request under that law.

We may need proportionate verification information. Requests are handled within applicable legal requirements and exceptions. Browser settings let you control local history, cookies and website storage. Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent for future use.

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first if practical. You may also contact the Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data or another competent regulator where applicable. Contacting us does not remove your right to complain.

10. Children and external websites

The website does not offer child accounts or knowingly invite children to submit personal information through forms. If you believe a child’s information has been sent to us unnecessarily, contact the privacy address so the issue can be assessed.

Source citations and other external links take you to services with their own practices. We do not control those websites. A link to a source is not an instruction to provide it with your personal information.

11. Changes and contact

We will revise this notice when the website’s features or information practices change and update the review date. Material changes should be explained before introducing a new processing purpose. For questions, email hello@bakecraftjournal.com.
